The Art of Florals and Greenery in Finished Spaces

Floral arrangements and greenery are more than just decorative touches—they are living elements that bring a sense of balance, beauty, and vitality to a space. Thoughtfully incorporated, they elevate interiors, softening architectural lines, adding depth, and enhancing the emotional resonance of a room. I believe that florals and greenery complete a space in the same way art or textiles do.

They introduce organic textures, subtle fragrance, and shifting seasonal interest, ensuring that no room ever feels static. A well-placed arrangement—whether a sculptural branch, an oversized vase of blooms, or a quiet gathering of meadow flowers—can transform a room’s atmosphere instantly.

Beyond aesthetics, plants and flowers have an innate ability to influence mood. Lush greenery fosters a sense of calm, while vibrant floral compositions bring energy and personality. The choice of vessel, scale, and composition all contribute to the feeling they impart. A delicate ceramic vessel filled with wispy stems evokes effortless charm, while a dramatic arrangement in a stone urn adds a sense of grandeur and permanence.

In finished spaces, I approach florals and greenery as an extension of the interior’s materiality and palette. In a minimalist setting, a single statement branch or a cluster of sculptural leaves can be more impactful than an elaborate bouquet. In richly layered spaces, I love mixing fresh flowers with dried elements to create a sense of depth and history.

There is also an intimacy to working with flowers—they reflect the changing seasons, personal rituals, and even fleeting moments of beauty. The impermanence of a fresh arrangement reminds us to slow down and appreciate our surroundings. Whether it’s a simple vase of garden clippings or a striking, curated display, florals and greenery are an invitation to experience a space in a more sensory, connected way.
